Not to be outdone by Johnny Cueto, the Rangers' lefty Martin Perez tossed his second consecutive complete game victory yesterday afternoon in Oakland, as Texas blanked the A's, 3-0.It was also the second consecutive complete game shutout for Perez, which is the first time for that feat since Cole Hamels did it in consecutive starts on August 7-13, 2012.
Perez, never this dominating previously, now has a scoreless inning streak of 26 innings.
The won-loss record for pitchers with complete games in 2014 now stands at 9-3 (.750).
