NOIR MOMENT: FLUSHING MEADOW, FEBRUARY 2011

Transplanted Philadelphian Bryan Sargent is an accomplished photographer and musician when he's not taking his life in his hands and rooting for the Phillies while living in New York City. His blog, The Transplanted Phan, looks to be an evocative collision of two of his key passions: pictures and horsehide.

Readying himself for the upcoming season, Sargent soldiered out to Flushing Meadow a couple of weeks ago: perhaps anticipating the high probability of turmoil and torment in store for the New York Mets, he captured a telling B&W moment that might be a premonition of things to come.

By the way, Bryan, I did not steal that picture of Duke Snider in mid-air with a tennis racket from you...I think we lifted it from the same Internet source. But thanks for this one, and keep 'em coming.
